Rep. Seth Morgan Announces His Candidacy for State Auditor

February 1, 2010 by Montgomery GOP · Leave a Comment

Representative Seth Morgan announced on Thursday, January 31, 2010 that he will be running for state auditor to replace current Auditor Mary Taylor, who decided to be Republican gubernatorial candidate John Kasich’s running mate.

“Since I was first elected to public office in 2001, I have strived to ensure that I am in a position to do what is best for the people I represent. And that is now to be Ohio’s next auditor”, said Rep. Seth Morgan.

Rep. Morgan began his day with the official announcement in Columbus at the Statehouse and then concluded later in the day with a campaign kickoff rally in Huber Heights.

Montgomery County Republican Chairman Greg Gantt was on hand to introduce him at the Huber Heights rally. “Seth is more than qualified to be Ohio’s next auditor.”

“As a CPA and as an elected official, I have a track record of fighting for taxpayers at the local and state level. I have demanded accountability, transparency, and efficiency in government. I want to bring that experience to the auditor’s office,” Morgan said.

Representative Morgan has a broad coalition supporting him for Ohio auditor. Several conservative organizations, Republicans, party leaders, Tea Parties, grassroots activists, religious leaders, business owners, associations and more are behind him.

Additionally, Seth has quickly assembled a stellar campaign team, which includes his wife Debra; Emery Phipps, Political Director; Rob Scott, Communications Director; Leslie Klick, Events Director; Jan Mahaffey, Field Coordinator; Thomas Wise, Campaign Chaplain.

Seth Morgan was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2008 after serving seven years on the Huber Heights City Council. He is a Small Business Owner and Certified Public Accountant. For more information about Seth Morgan visit www.SethMorgan.org.

John Kasich Announces His Candidacy for Governor

June 3, 2009 by Montgomery GOP · 2 Comments

johnkasich1Former Congressman John Kasich is proud to call Ohio his home, and he is optimistic about our future. He understands that our great state is hurting, and believes we can do better. As our next governor, John wants to work together with all Ohioans to make a difference for our future and develop common sense solutions that will bring jobs and prosperity back to Ohio’s families.

Known for his straightforward style and boundless energy, John was elected to the Ohio State Senate at the age of 26 and to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 at the age of 30.

As a nine-term Congressman, John played major leadership roles in a variety of groundbreaking achievements. Driven by a belief that government should not live beyond its means, John worked as Chairman of the House Budget Committee to construct the plan that balanced the federal budget for the first time since man first walked on the moon. At first the naysayers said it couldn’t be done, then they said it shouldn’t be done, then they said it wouldn’t be done. But John, working with a team of other leaders, proved them all wrong. Together they balanced the budget, provided for the largest government surplus our country has ever seen, and opened the door for an era of tremendous job growth and prosperity.

As a business leader John has worked to understand what makes businesses successful, and has helped companies in a wide variety of industries nationwide to grow, invest for the future and create jobs.

His leadership in Washington and his ability to communicate powerfully and effectively have given John a broad platform to shape public opinion as a commentator, appearing on virtually every major network and cable news show. He has also hosted a national weekly news show called “Heartland with John Kasich,” which allowed him to provide a uniquely Midwestern perspective to news from around the nation and world.

Mary Taylor Announces Her Bid for Re-Election as Ohio’s Auditor

May 29, 2009 by Montgomery GOP · Leave a Comment

Mary TaylorSince being elected in 2006, my office has worked diligently to provide the taxpayers of Ohio with the professionalism and efficiency they deserve from their Auditor.

In that time, we have made measurable progress in providing Ohioans protection from government fraud and wasteful spending of their hard earned tax dollars.

But there is more work to be done- and I plan to finish the job.

With Ohio facing a future budget hole unlike any in our State’s history, it is imperative we hold all of our state and local governments accountable.

I am running for re-election as your Auditor of State to continue the progress we have made in providing Ohio taxpayers with a more accountable and affordable government.

As your Auditor of State, I will continue to be Ohio’s Taxpayer Watchdog, making sure your tax dollars count. I will continue to investigate allegations of public corruption and fraud and hold the perpetrators accountable. I will continue to work with the school districts responsible for educating our children to help make sure they are functional and efficient.

These are just a few of my priorities, and I trust they are what you expect from your State Auditor.

I look forward to working with you and every Ohioan to return our State to an era of prosperity and promise.

Sincerely,

Mary Taylor

Josh Mandel Announces His Candidacy for State Treasurer

May 28, 2009 by Montgomery GOP · Leave a Comment

Josh MandelI wanted to let you know that I have announced my decision to run for State Treasurer in the 2010 election.

I decided to run for Treasurer after spending many months on the road, traveling to all corners of Ohio and accumulating over 30,000 miles on my car. Time and time again, I heard the same message from folks throughout the state: they are frustrated that while our economy is hurting and families are tightening their belts, our government continues to over-spend.

I believe that, to change the direction of our state, we need new leaders who believe in good old-fashioned values like honesty, hard work and fiscal responsibility. I learned these timeless values from my family and they were reinforced in me by the Marine Corps. I have carried them with me throughout my life, and I will work day and night to honor them in my service to you as State Treasurer.

My most important duty as Treasurer will be to protect the hard-earned dollars of every Ohioan. I have a proven record of standing up for Ohio’s taxpayers, including spearheading one of the only municipal tax rollbacks in the State’s history as a City Councilman. As State Representative, I helped reform the investment oversight structure for the scandal-ridden Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

I began my previous campaigns for office by campaigning door-to-door in lake-effect snow storms and by promising my supporters that I will never be outworked. My strategy for this race is no different – I promise to run a high-energy grassroots campaign, utilizing technology and engaging the young and the old alike. I hope you will consider joining our team today by making a contribution, signing up to volunteer, or by forwarding this message to your friends.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Josh Mandel
