John Kasich Announces His Candidacy for Governor

johnkasich1Former Congressman John Kasich is proud to call Ohio his home, and he is optimistic about our future. He understands that our great state is hurting, and believes we can do better. As our next governor, John wants to work together with all Ohioans to make a difference for our future and develop common sense solutions that will bring jobs and prosperity back to Ohio’s families.

Known for his straightforward style and boundless energy, John was elected to the Ohio State Senate at the age of 26 and to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 at the age of 30.

As a nine-term Congressman, John played major leadership roles in a variety of groundbreaking achievements. Driven by a belief that government should not live beyond its means, John worked as Chairman of the House Budget Committee to construct the plan that balanced the federal budget for the first time since man first walked on the moon. At first the naysayers said it couldn’t be done, then they said it shouldn’t be done, then they said it wouldn’t be done. But John, working with a team of other leaders, proved them all wrong. Together they balanced the budget, provided for the largest government surplus our country has ever seen, and opened the door for an era of tremendous job growth and prosperity.

As a business leader John has worked to understand what makes businesses successful, and has helped companies in a wide variety of industries nationwide to grow, invest for the future and create jobs.

His leadership in Washington and his ability to communicate powerfully and effectively have given John a broad platform to shape public opinion as a commentator, appearing on virtually every major network and cable news show. He has also hosted a national weekly news show called “Heartland with John Kasich,” which allowed him to provide a uniquely Midwestern perspective to news from around the nation and world.

    Sirs,

As a conservative my disappointment in the republican party is boundless. if I wasted to vote for liberals I would vote for the real ones in the democratic party not the pretend ones in the republican party. It is time that the party goes back to its roots and stop being afraid of their own shadows. This country needs to be led by real men. The voters have not had that for some time.

I am sure that this is not the first response that you have received like this. Get rid of the country club liberals that run the party and get in tune with the American people. And make sure that each candidate understands that he or she is a public servant and is obligated to serve, not to give it lip-service.

Finally, accomplishments count. If the candidates can not accomplish, why would the party support them. The lesser of two evils is not an option.

    Best Regards,

    Robert C. Baxter

I do agree with the one individual who wrote the article concerning RHINOS and dishonest republicans who should have known that the democrats were going to attack any American who is religious, supports gun control, involved in any conservative organization, and disagrees with Barack’s socialism-communism policies. Plumber Joe and Sara Palin were correct, “The rich and white middle class will be paying for all Americans, while the government takes control over the media, unions, businesses, major industries, and the right to religion. Further more, where do Americans, especially conservatives, seem so afraid to stand up for the basic principles of the Constitution, strength through power, allowing the people to run the government that is for the people, and refusing to allow Americans to pay outrageous taxes, while Congress continues to spend billions of “Pork filled” legislation. Why do Americans seem so content and do not care if our Constitution is ignored and degraded? I am appalled and feel as if I am living in pre-WWII Germany, and the ending was tragic. Nevertheless, as President Reagan stated, “Democracy and freedom remain only one generation away from disappearing distinction. Unfortunately, there will be no country in the World to help us as we have helped so many.” It is time to get back to basics and get rid of these weak, scared, and easily persuaded by democrats and lobbyists to get out of office. Strickland, Brown, and Voinovich must go. The Mayor of Dayton needs to move far away from Dayton. She has been a disgrace to the city of Dayton. So, I pray that we have strong candidates, but regardless, they need to remember that we formed a government by the people, for the people – the politicians work for us, not the other way around. Tracy
