The Dayton Tea Party Rally Drew More Than 8,000

daytonteapartyThe Dayton Tea Party has announced the next Rally will be held at 7 pm on July 3rd in Brookville’s Golden Gate Park.

The event will have a similar flavor like the April 15th Rally, but with some twists. “We are having a professional fireworks show for all those that are in attendance. It will include a grand finale and more,” said Rob Scott, founder of the Dayton Tea Party. “We are having a kids area as well. This truly is going to be a family event with good music, activities and fellowship.”

Also, The Dayton Tea Party unveiled their revamped Web site that includes community forums, blogs and more. Additionally, the Dayton Tea Party is beginning community meet ups at local restaurants, coffee shops and libraries to discuss issues.

The April 15 event drew more than 8,000 in downtown Dayton at Courthouse Square. “The Tax Day Rally was amazing. We had a great crowd and amazing speakers.”

The Dayton Tea Party is a non-profit corporation that is a grassroots and nonpartisan group opposed to wasteful government spending. The Tea Party is made up of students, homemakers, working people, professionals, and business owners who are Democrats, Independents, Republicans, and Libertarians. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the April 15 Tea Party. I wanted to attend so bad and regret not attending; however, the reason I did not attend was two-fold. One, there were rumors of democrats protesting, which is there right. On the other hand, at one protest I attended during the 2000 election, the democrats actually tore the shirt off one of our fellow GOP protesters and called us every four letter word. I can handle this, but I did not feel safe attending alone, and I could not find anyone to attend the event with me. It would be very beneficial – in my opinon – to consider sometype of mass transportation for key events; especially those at night. I am blind in one eye with very poor eyesight in the other, and although I am only 45, my physician has restricted me from driving at night to places unknown or further than 10 to 15 miles away. And, believe me! Every conservative I talked with and begged to attend, stated they did not feel safe and felt Obama would use the occassion to target, monitor, and silence those who attend. I am currently on disability and do not work during the day, so I would more than happy to assist in the office, plan events, etc… I worked for the March of Dimes and Dayton Boys and Girls Club in a executive position, while being responsible for all promotions, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising. Please call me at 937-559-0174 if you need help. In closing, my niece will be a freshman at Wright State. She had planned to join the the Young Republicans, but after voting and working the polls last year, she is so upset and says she cannot be part of a group that “roles over and plays dead” and allowed a “socialists, communists, radicial islamic man with no experience to become President of the best Country in the World.” She will not dicuss it now, but I feel if someone from the Young Republicans contacted her and helped mentor her, she would be willing to get involve. She is a dynamic young lady grounded in common sense, compassion for her country, and loves to use her many talents to help others. If someone calls me, I will be glad to giver them her address and phone number.

I am very proud of the people who attend the Tea Party meetings, ect. I attended the one at the Presidential Center and was overcome that so many feel like I do. Two of my doctors were there and I am also proud of their involvement. Conservatives seem to be making headway but we have a way to go. Keep up the good work.
